A Managed Website Plan Case study

​Let's look at an example of how a managed plan, versus a self managed plan can vary, based on  a real case study.

Venture were working with an Engineering company called Wilsons Engineering based in Bristol. We built their website and maintained it for several years on a Managed Plan, promoting the website for search terms such as 'CNC Engineering (page 1 position ' and 'CNC Turning' and 'CNC Machining' (among many others). As a result, the website consistently received 1,100 targeted, unique visits per month and attained a 2/10 page rank on Google. 

Wilsons made the decision to terminate the managed plan and move the website to a different provider, whist editing the website themselves internally. Since the decision to cease the managed website plan, a number of things have happened;

• The Wilsons Engineering website no longer ranks on the first page of Google for previously competitive, highly sought after key phrases.
• The Wilsons page rank has already dropped from 2/10 to 1/10 - this will most likely continue to drop.
• The Wilsons website is no longer accessible from a web guidelines point of view (Equality Act 2010 - formerly the Disability Act).
