Venture offer an array of different digital solutions to help your company, including; Web Design, SEO, Social Media Bundles and Managed Website Plans. Focusing on Website Development and Managed Websites, let's look at the difference between them and see why 75% of all of our clients have decided to opt for a Managed Plan.
When potential customers approach our team for help with their website, our proposals will outline a Design service that allows access to our specially designed, easy to use CMS (Content Management System) and also a Managed Website Plan.
Design Service & CMS Accessibility
With a design and CMS accessible service, your website will be built to your specifications, using your brief and revisions will be completed where necessary. You will be left with a cutting edge design, SEO compliant structure and overall performance of the website is fluid. Thereafter, you will begin to add content - images, text and perhaps creating some new website pages. Although our CMS is one of the best in the business and we offer support, you're largely on your own.
As good as our Content Management System is, without the knowledge surrounding proper coding practices, correct Search Engine Optimisation and digital marketing techniques, you may struggle to maintain your websites overall ranking. In some cases, every time you update your CMS, you could be doing more harm than good - and that goes for any CMS, designed on any platform - it's knowledge that's key in this situation.
Our Managed Website Service
Every Managed Website plan carries the same design process with self-managed websites - to your specification with revisions until you're completely happy to launch. The main difference is, the design of the website, will be free which will certainly help your budget - especially if you're a start-up.
With a managed service plan, your organisation will have a dedicated team of professionals, working on your website on a full time basis. Venture employ multi-level digital marketing experts to ensure your website runs flawlessly and maintains an excellent all round standard. Unlimited updates, Search Engine Optimisation and help with third party social media platforms, such as Facebook / Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn are all included with our Managed Website Plans, which makes them unique in our industry. Does this mean you're not allowed to eidt your website? Absolutely not - you will still be given login details, but we'll be with you every step of the way.
A Managed Website Plan Case study
Let's look at an example of how a managed plan, versus a self managed plan can vary, based on a real case study.
Venture were working with an Engineering company called Wilsons Engineering based in Bristol. We built their website and maintained it for several years on a Managed Plan, promoting the website for search terms such as 'CNC Engineering (page 1 position ' and 'CNC Turning' and 'CNC Machining' (among many others). As a result, the website consistently received 1,100 targeted, unique visits per month and attained a 2/10 page rank on Google.
Wilsons made the decision to terminate the managed plan and move the website to a different provider, whist editing the website themselves internally. Since the decision to cease the managed website plan, a number of things have happened;
• The Wilsons Engineering website no longer ranks on the first page of Google for previously competitive, highly sought after key phrases.
• The Wilsons page rank has already dropped from 2/10 to 1/10 - this will most likely continue to drop.
• The Wilsons website is no longer accessible from a web guidelines point of view (Equality Act 2010 - formerly the Disability Act).
Maintaining your website properly is essential to the survival of your business. Now, more than ever, businesses are relying on digital marketing to drive potential customers to their website.
