Reporting abuse to Venture
Venture however, maintains its position as an Interactive Online Supplier and accordingly is afforded protection from liability of all content posted by its users according to the provisions of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. Due to this, Venture isn't able and doesn't editorialise or otherwise judge the merits of the content posted by Venture users on blogs or web content, or risk losing such protections.
Due to the Data Protection Act of 1998, we will not comply with requests for the personal information of our members, including email address, IP address, or other unless the user is breaking UK law and law enforcement agencies request the information for their records or ongoing investigations.
It should be noted that if you are not a law enforcement officer and would like to have a website discontinued or obtain personally identifying information about a Venture user, you will need to obtain a court order, which we will honour if passed. You are advised to receive legal advice on these topics if you are investigating this possibility.
