Creating New Website Pages

Adding pages to your website

The number of pages your website will have will depend on the plan you select from Venture.  The Plus Plan has a maximum of 15 pages, the Premium Plan has up to 40 pages and the Ultimate Plan has unlimited pages - you can add as many as you like!

Plus and Premium Plans and Deleting Pages
The Plus and Premium Plans from Venture will give you 15 and 40 pages respectively which ready and waiting for you. The pages will be hidden from the main navigation until you want to activate into the main navigation by clicking the 'Hide Page in Navigation Menu' box located under the 'Page Layout' section (as shown below).  If you don't want the extra pages, just click on the page on the left hand side (where the highlighted 'New Page' tab is in blue) and then click the 'Delete Page' button under the 'Advanced Setting' Section.  You will then get a warning sign saying if you are sure you want to delete the page.  Click the button saying delete if so - or cancel if it was a mistake.  PLEASE BE CAREFUL THOUGH - once a page is deleted, we may not be able get it back for you!

Choosing a layout for your website page and naming it
There are four different types of page layouts you can choose from; one with a tall header, one with a shorter banner, a landing page and lastly one without a header at all.  You can switch which type of header you want at any time and the header (and text if choosing the Landing Page header) will remain intact if decide to put it back later on.  The dimensions of each banner in the header differs depending on the website theme you have selected as all websites have different widths and layouts.

Pages and sub pages on your navigation and how to hide them from view
When you add a page, each one will form your main navigation on your website.  You can click, hold and drag the website page to change the order of them - but also drag them to the right slightly and beneath a page to create a sub page, or drop down banner from your main navigation.  Sometimes you won't always want to show all of your pages - to hide them, simply check the 'Hide Page in Navigation Menu'.

Password protecting pages
Each page can be password protected with a universal password that can be set from the Settings tab in the top banner.

Copying Pages
If you have a particular page that you like the layout of and you want to duplicate it, simply hit the 'Copy Page' button and it will copy the page and place it at the bottom of the list of pages on the left hand side.  Be careful though, Google and other search engines don'y like duplicate content, so please don't use the same text content from other web pages - especially if they aren't yours, otherwise search engines could demote your website rank or even ban your website.

Advanced Settings
This is where you can add things like Page Titles, Page Descriptions and Keywords without having to alter the HTML coding. This is a great starting point for SEO - but getting your website ranked in search engines like Google takes a lot more work!
